I use the term engaged during every exercise. When you isometrically tighten the Gluteus Maximus and the Abdominals you have engaged the muscles that hold your structure in proper posture for any exercise you plan to perform. This is the Core Stabilization position. Core is the buzz word used to refer to muscles from the hip region to the shoulder girth. These are the muscles that keep us upright daily.
